How it works

Three independent entities, each doing one thing well. The farmer gets paid first.

1

Farmers

Grow, harvest, and deliver to the co-op at above-market prices. Our cooperatives pay $25/almud — government floor is $18.

2

Cooperative

Processes, grades, packages. The co-op owns the equipment. The farmers own the co-op.

3

Zafra

Buys from the co-op. Ships to you. Carries the story — every order includes a provenance card: region, farm, harvest date, and price paid to the farmer.

"PR produces roughly 36,000 quintales of coffee and consumes 200,000. That scarcity is the value."
